The Sixes River gets a very strong run of Native Winter Steelhead along with fall Chinook Salmon. The Sixes River is about 5 miles North of Port Orford, Oregon, near the Elk River. The Sixes River is approximately 30 miles long and has a similar run of fish to the Elk River. Sixes River Salmon Fishing begins after the first fall rains blow out the sand bars that build up during summer, releasing the river waters to the ocean once again. Popular fishing methods for the Sixes River are trolling Kwikfish and bait divers.
